We're closed for now!

Once again with a heavy heart, I’m so sorry to say that we’re now closed until restrictions are lifted. 
This means that 
if you have an appointment with us before 15 February – including tomorrow – it’s cancelled. You should shortly receive a cancellation message; if you receive a reminder message, please disregard it.

You can reschedule your appointment for on or after 1 March, though please bear in mind that we might be closed past this date; as soon as we have clearer information on the lifting of restrictions, we’ll let you know.

f you have purchased or been the lucky recipient of a Your Beauty Secret gift voucher, don’t worry, we’ll extend its validity for the time we’re closed due to government restrictions. 

Lastly, you can still purchase any products from us during the lockdown by emailing us or contacting us on Facebook. 
We’ve also put together some great Shellac Soak Off Kits which can be bought online here.
As I said on New Years’ Eve, light is at the end of the tunnel, even if that tunnel is looking longer than we originally thought. Look after yourselves, one another, and stay safe. Laura, Ruth and I will be waiting excitedly to see you all again in the Spring.

Happy New Year!

2020 is drawing to a close - phew, what a year - it's been difficult and sobering for everyone. Light is at the end of the tunnel, though; the girls and I are crossing everything that 2021 brings better fortune and health for everyone! Although Christmas has been different, and New Years' will be too - I know we'll all be raising at glass at midnight to everyone affected by this pandemic.

Calderdale is still in a Tier 3 zone, which means we're on 'Very High Alert', that said, we're still fully open and following our very strict COVID-19 Infection Prevention & Control Policy to keep you, our staff and our community safe.

We're closed on 1, 2 and 3 January, reopening and reverting back to our usual opening hours on Monday 4 January.

Laura, Ruth and I would like to take this opportunity to extend a heartfelt thank you for all your patience, loyalty and support this year - you've kept us alive and kicking - we appreciate it more than you know. All that is left to say is Happy New Year, 2021 isn't going to be immediately better and easier, but we got through this year together, we can keep going.

We're reopen from Wednesday 2 December

At 09:30am on Wednesday 2 December, we're reopening our doors again - hooray! Laura, Ruth and I will be back Monday to Friday with appointments available right up until and including Christmas Eve. 

If you're looking to book for Christmas, we'd recommend booking your appointments as soon as possible as space is filling up fast. We'll soon be posting details of our Christmas and New Year opening times.

We've extended our opening hours before lockdown!

Hello again – I was hoping that I wouldn’t have to write another COVID-19 update, however sadly, here it is.

From Thursday 5 November, we will once again be closing our doors, as per national lockdown restrictions announced. I can’t sugar coat it, we’re  absolutely devastated, although with a hopeful end date in sight, we’re crossing our fingers and toes that we’ll be seeing you again from 2 December.

Here goes for the important bits: 

If you have an appointment between 5 November and 1 December, sadly it has been cancelled. You’ll receive confirmation soon.

We’re working hard to contact those of you booked later this week to try and fit you in before lockdown commences.

We’ve extended our opening hours next week to try and accommodate as many of you as possible: 

Monday 2 November 09:30 – 21:00
Tuesday 3 November 09:30 – 21:00
Wednesday 4 November 09:30 – 21:00

If required, we can work past 21:00, to make sure we fit as many of you in as possible - please contact us if this is the case.

You can now book and amend your existing appointments online with our new opening times. Alternatively you can contact us via email, simply by replying to this message. 

We’ll miss you, but as before, we’re still here for a virtual hello, or for beauty tips, on our Facebook page or by emailing us. You can also buy products and we’ll post them out to you.

From now on all that remains to say is good luck; stay safe, look after each other and most importantly, keep smiling! We’ll see each other again very soon.

We're open!

As of Tuesday 14 July, we are reopen! Hooray!

As per government guidelines, we're unable to return with our full compliment of treatments. Facials, facial waxing, lashes and brows aren't allowed until 1 August. You can still book these online, however, please only do so on or after 22 August 2020.

Until 22 August, below is a list of our treatments on offer:

  • All nails – Shellac, Gel and Acrylic

  • Maniures and pedicures

  • Hot waxing (arms, legs, body and intimate areas)

  • Strip waxing (arms, legs, body and intimate areas)

  • Massages


All of our other treatments are bookable, although to reiterate, please only book facial treatments from 22 August.

COVID-19 Infection Prevention & Control Policy

We've released a COVID-19 Infection Prevention and Control policy, outlining how we, at Your Beauty Secret, are working hard to keep you, our staff and our community safe when we reopen in the coming weeks.

You can download and view our full policy - in more depth - by clicking on the PDF document link below, however, here is a brief summary of key points:

  • All staff completed the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection and Control course

  • If you or anyone in your household feels ill, or has COVID-19 symptoms do not come to the salon

  • Our staff will self-isolate if there have any virus symptoms or feel ill

  • Our cancellation T&Cs have been amended to allow for last minute cancellations owing to virus symptoms 

  • Physical distancing will be in place in the salon with staggered appointment times

  • Increased frequency of cleaning, disinfecting and cleaning of towels and uniforms

  • PPE will be worn by staff before, during and after treatments

  • We’ve carried out a risk assessment on all of our treatments to ensure they’re safe

  • Personal hygiene is of paramount importance both for us and for our clients

  • Payment will be by card, contactless or bank transfer wherever possible

We're remaining closed on 4 July

Hello again, I hope you, your family and loved ones are keeping safe.

We're remaining closed on 4 July after the English government only gave hairdressing salons the green light to reopen. Though frustrating, as we're fully prepared to reopen, COVID-19 secure, with a host of additional measures in place to ensure your safety, we respect the government's decision. Through industry bodies, we are naturally seeking further guidance and assurances from Westminster as to when we can reopen, as well as reasoning behind their decision to keep us closed. We'll keep you posted with any updates we receive.

To avoid further disappointment and inconvenience to you, our loyal clients, we've suspended bookings 1 August 2020. We expect to reopen mid-July, however, and if this changes we'll post an update here straight away.

Keeping our clients, staff and community safe

As soon as we reopen, we will have new measures in place to ensure we're keeping you, our staff and our community as safe as we can, and fight back against the spread of COVID–19. We will be fully complying with government, Public Health England and the Health and Safety Executive's advice and guidelines as well as implementing additional measure as we see necessary, going above and beyond to keep us all safe.

As we adapt to the new normal, there will be some noticeable changes in-salon:

  • Face masks: our staff will be wearing face masks, and for certain treatments, eye protection. We ask all our clients to also wear face masks – if you don’t have one, we can provide you one for a small charge

  • Staggered appointments: we’ll make sure that two clients aren’t arriving at the same time, with a maximum of two clients in the salon at any one time

  • Arriving at the salon: If you arrive early, we kindly ask you to wait in your car. The salon door will be locked in between appointments, and the reception waiting area closed

  • Hand sanitiser: please sanitise your hands immediately on entering the salon. Sanitiser will be available for you to use

  • Disposable cups: to further reduce the risk of transmission, we’ve temporarily replaced our china mugs for paper cups, that can be binned straight after use

  • Cashless payments: we’ll only be taking card, contactless and bank transfer payments

  • Additional opening hours: we'll be open every Monday from 09:30–18:00 to ensure we can fit you all in with our two client-two staff rule

  • Catch it, bin it, kill it: we won’t run a mile if you sneeze, but please do so into a tissue, bin the tissue and wash your hands straight away


Alongside these new measures, we’ll be taking extra time after each appointment to sanitise and disinfect all treatment areas, including the bathroom.
